The Starplayer Special is a reproduction of the very first Duesenberg '92 prototype guitars. The neck heel is set-in traditionally, but bolt on with two strong power proof threaded machine screws. This junction combines both worlds of guitar construction while keeping the end of the neck invisible from the body and cutaway. This new design creates a combination of overtones, sustain and attack not achieved by Duesenberg's of the past.

Arched spruce top (multi-layer) and binding on headstock enhance its look with one F-hole and neck heel on a trans-orange body with a "super tremola" tailpiece, floating bridge and 3-step kidney shape tuner buttons.
Pick-ups consist of a P-90 construction single coil pick-up in the neck position and a vintage humbucker in bridge position giving that special Duesenberg twang sound in the middle position of the 3-way switch.
